  • "The Eensy Weensy Spider"
Make this "water spout" out of pvc pipe and silver spray paint. The spider (not pictured) can be made of black pipe cleaner and a string attached that is strung down inside the pipe and around to the spider again. It should make it so you can pull on the string and the spider can go in and out.
  • "Follow the Prophet" and "Book of Mormon Stories"
Maracas and little tambarine-like shakers are used for these two songs because they have that consistent, steady beat that the kids can learn to tap to. There are various stores, online and in town, that these are available for purchase. There is also a way to make your own using things from home. Gluing paper plates together with rice or beans inside is a great way to make your own "shaker" for the kids to shake to the beat and learn these songs with.
  • "Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam"
These Sunbeams are made out of card stock. Cut out like the rays of the sun. Kids love to hold these up to their faces and sing along while jumping at the "BEAM" part.
  •  "Jingle Bells" and other Christmas songs
These props were made up of bells you can buy at any craft store and attached with pipe cleaners. They are formed into a circle so they are easy to hold and sing "Jingle Bells" or any of your favorite Christmas songs. The kids might also like to put them on their head and balance them to see who can still still with out them falling off during the reverent songs.
  • "Old MacDonald"
For this song, there are many websites that offer print outs of the barn, and animals. It would be fun to let the kids color them if they are blank. One the cut outs in the picture above, they are standing on a card stock strip that has a slit cut in the middle for the animal cut out to fit in.

  • "Once There Was a Snowman"
When singing the "Snowman" song with your family, interact with the children by using a cut out of a snow man. You can use felt and attach it to a large rectangle card board cut out. The back of the cardboard has a hole behind the snow man's head and a hole behind the very bottom of him. Attach a ribbon or string to either end first and pull in through to the outside of the back of the board. Thread it through the other hole and attach it to the other end. As you pull the string, the snow man goes up and down. The children love watching him "melt" and get tall tall tall!
  • "Popcorn Popping"
Find old glasses around the house and either pop the lenses out or keep them in. The kids love to put on the glasses as the song starts as they "look out the window". It's very cute when the whole family is wearing glasses during the entire song.
  • "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "I am like a Star"
These stars are made with silver fabric, sticks, hot glue and puff paint. Cut out stars with the fabric, glue two together making sure stick is inserted between two points of star. glue stick in place so it is secure. Paint and decorate the star and it's ready for the kids to wave in the air for these songs. Cutting out paper stars are also a great and simpler way to re-create these.
  • "When I am Baptized"
The sticks with the colored ribbons represent the rainbow mentioned in the song. Just attach ends of ribbon to a stick of any kind and watch the kids wave them around while singing this beautiful song. They love watching how beautiful the ribbons look floating in the air.
  • "The Wise Man/Foolish Man"
This prop is as simple as finding a jar with a lid around your house. Glue rocks at the bottom if the wise man's jar and find an object that resembles a house. You could use anything from the house in the Monopoly game pieces, to a paper cut out. As long as it is secured so when you shake it, it stays. The foolish man's jar can be filled with sand or dirt and the house is not secured to this one so that it moves or "washes away" as the song says. The kids will love passing around the jars as they sing the song.
